Eating my way through Germany, wurst by wurst.

October was a fun month. Starting off with a happy note that I was going to Germany. On a WurstAdventure that is.

Germany is pretty much like a blank sheet for me. I have visited a couple of times only on the egde of the Danish border and never for any long. I have been thinking of exploring this country for a long time and I am glad I finally can cross that out.

One week, 6 cities and a woopin 37 wurst (Still to this date I have no need for another sausage, just yet. I think I just tasted my quota for 2015)

This is my Wurst-Adventure:

Let´s kick it of from the beginning, starting in Berlin.

Berlin has been on my Radar for quite some years. In Norway is has been a big shopping city ever since Norwegian startet up their direct flight. And a good a friend of mine swears to visit Berlin a couple of times a year. I have had countless invites but the timing has never been quite there. finally it was my time to see what the fuzz was all about.

And let me tell you, Berlin did not falter. One day here is noe even enough to get started. But still takes you around town if you really want to.

I landed around noon, with plenty of time to explore the city. Waited for my two other travelers/colleagues (Andy and Maria) and of we headed into town. Thank god for Andy, a former local berliner. If not I may have startet off in the wrong direction. The train ride in to the senter was not so easy to decode. Riding the train all over Germany could prove a bit of a challenge. But group work made it easy, that and some knowledge of the DBBahn.

In town we met Janicke of Norske reiseblogger, who met us at the hotel Kantstrasse. Our stay for the night.

The crisp smell of autumn and the colors that Berlin displayed. Too pretty. Made me fall right in love with this city.

We started off by visiting the museum of curry wurst. Berlin is well known for its curry wurst and you can see the little vans all over town selling it and competing on who´s got the best one.

Close to checkpoint Charlie you find the museum of Curry wurst. Telling the story of how it became the most famous wurst of berlin and as a interactive museum you can touch, feel and smell, even taste this little treat.

We had a booking to tour Berlin on bike, and what a way to see the city. Loved every minute of it even though at the end it became a little cold. Berlin is a perfect place to bike around. Easy and really flat. And you get to see some perfect places. Our guide Sascha from Berlin on Bike did a perfect job touring us around the districts of Berlin.
