Hike: The Kings road

A new entry on the hike part.

And to be honest I dont consider my self a big hiker but with the nature we have right outside our doorstep it is only natural to take a trip every now and then.

A ladder to take you further south towards the Madland harbor. Next time I wanna go the whole 4 kilometres one way

I have long been thinking of doing the Kings road outside Varhaug, Rogaland. Centuries ago this was the only way to get around. And the new Hiking route has been built around the old one where you still can see trases of. The hike is a good 10 km., and brings you along a beautiful photogenic hike route. We only did a third of the hike, as it was a typical windy day on this part.

Way way back there was a ship wrecking in the treacherous coast costing the lives of 389 Russian men, many of which buried right here.

we started our hike at the old graveyard in Varhaug, dating back to the 1200th century. The graveyard has been said to be one of the country pretties. And I would have to agree..

..must be one of the loveliest final resting place.
