Fyn – Going all danish

Heading for my neighboring country on a non planned trip was absolutely great. I had forgotten all about the lovely danish little country side and hospitality. And after this week I feel like exploring even more of the hidden gems of Denmark.

We headed for the Island of Fyn as my travel companions had some appointments and treatments with scientist and manual therapist Birger Feldt. Me I went along for the ride and to have some time off work.

We left by car and headed from Stavanger to Kristiansand a good 4 hour drive, hopped on the fast ferry there and entered Denmark through Hirtshals. We Norwegians know well of Hirtshals but mostly as a harbour place for the Denmark-Norway ferries. With no time to linger we headed on down south towards Fyn.

And let me tell you a thing or two about car riding in Norway contra Denmark. Huge difference. The Norwegian politicians are so far behind in their road politics contra our neighbors that it is a true shame. Going by car i Denmark is a dream. Especially when you are used to the Norwegian roads. Enough ranting…

Exploring the sunset at the Danish Highway heading south

We arrived in Hirtshals at 8pm and went for another 4 hours until heading into Middelfart for a one night stay. Our appointments where in Aarup the next day and staying at Middelfart meant we only had to drive an hour to get to our destination. Perfect!

Stay put for more exploring of Fyn.
