The streets of Hamburg

2016 was the year I finally got to experience the streets of Hamburg. And even if it was all dressed for Christmas I could still see the beauty among the decorations. Let´s hope I get to come back and walk some more in these streets.

As the second largest City of Germany you still feel comfortable walking from district to district. But if you prefer. A very well and manageable subway system are there to take you from stop to stop. If I can figure it out in no time. Well then so can you.

Another day set´s in the Streets of Hamburg

Earlier this January the brand new and very good looking Concert hall of Hamburg. Elbephilharmonie located in the district of Hafencity. I was lucky to have a quick visit to this new landmark and to walk the area around. Something I highly recommend that you do. And even if there are no concerts for you to attend do make a quick stop and enjoy the view from the outdoor deck on this magnificent building.

The Elbphilharmonie in all its glory. A spectacular building in so many ways

Did you know that the concert hall is self is suspended in the mid of the building making it the heart….

Just a short walk from the new futuristic area of Hafencity the streets of Hamburg meet up with the Unesco protected site of Speicherstadt.

I particularly loved this area so much that I had to make a evening visit after dark. (resulting in a crushed phone, but worth it none the less). The contrast with the Elbphilharmonie in the background are stunning. And then you have the Chilehouse and the brigdes and warehouse after warehouse. How can you not fall in love with this.

Streets of Hamburg

When visiting Hamburg the district of St.Pauli are a must. And the most visited “attraction” of them all – the very well known Reeperbahn.

Streets of Hamburg
Before heading to Hamburg I posted a question on Facebook on what streets of Hamburg I needed to visit. Reeperbahn came up a lot. And with Reeperbahn the street of Herbert – Herbert Strasse. Where no women are aloud in! Except for those working inside of course. I almost made a run for it – wonder what would have happen if I really did..

The area of St. Pauli are not the prettiest in my mind. But are filled with heaps of cool street art.

Making my way from St. Paulie to the hip area of Schanzenviertel. A good 20 minutes walk with lots of fun street art like this one.
