Stay: Reichshof Hotel Hamburg. A touch of old school glamour!

I love when a Hotel have a story to tell. And Reichshof Hamburg certainly do.

Built in 1910, closed down in 2014 and reopened in fresh new dressing. But still keeping the old charm intact in July 2015. The Reichshof Hotel Hamburg have done a great remodelling but still keeping the history intact. And I love it.

I am greeted by a friendly staff in the early mornings. My room not quite ready yet but I am eager to head out to explore the Christmas market, to awake to rest.

This bed was so comfy. Just what the doctor ordered. Heaps of soft duvet pillows

My room is far from big. But I like the size and there are even room for a desk to sit and work with. WI-FI are complimentary on check in.

Clean and super fresh bathroom. A big plus for a proper hair blower and a lighted makeup mirror. And the shower are big enough to fit two grown people with two choices for shower head.

there are no mini bar at the room but you have your very own coffee maker. mmmm. In need of any toiletry or just want to relax on your room with a glass of wine, beer or just water. All these things are available in the lobby.

I usually don´t ask much when I stay over at a Hotel. But I do prefer the updated and modern look over the old look. Reichshof have done a perfect update on their room but have kept much of the charming old details that make the history of the Hotel but still making it a fresh and luxury feeling.

Perfectly situated at the center of Hamburg. Cross the street and you have the main train station. And the main shopping area are just behind the station. All in a 5-10 minutes walk from the Hotel.

Christmas have come to the Reichshof. The pink Chandelier are a good mix between the old and the new. The base are the old original one added with new pink details.
Bar 1910 Reichshof Hotel Hamburg
BAR 1910. Just like stepping into one of Agatha Christie novel, maybe even the oriental express itself. All kept as original. Live music every Saturday.
Fahrstüle – Lift. Another orignal feature. The clock lives its own life. Now left better alone. As it tends to go as it wants.. maybe it it the house ghost that plays tricks 😉
Orignal swing doors New work room. Just above the lobby you find this music/work room. Here you may relax playing a LP on you headset or borrowing one of the two Mac´s on the long table at your disposal. Genius

Reichshof Hamburg
The dining hall kept as It was originally. The style is made out to be on a cruise boat. A Titanic last dinner was held here earlier this year at great success.
I love the cool feature of the red lamps they really pop. Lobby bar where you can hang out and relax

The rooms are all the same art Deco typed room but different in size.

The entrance holds the Slowman Restaurant and Bar. Even a proper afternoon tea are served here. I was going for one at the day at departure. But unfortunately I ran out of time and could not make it. A very cool feature are the TV screens above the bar. In the evening you will find a band playing the lounge music.

My stay at the Reichshof Hotel Hamburg was a collaboration between NordicTB and Hamburg Tourism. Making the post for #HolyHamburg #ChristmasInHamburg. Pictures and text are however as always my own.
