Fall time in Stavanger

I am leaving Egypt for some time to come back home to Norway. It is getting darker, colder and fall is really showing off these days. Took some time off last week to be a tourist in my own city, Stavanger. I should totally do this more often. When just walking around with nothing in mind you really se your own backyard differently.

My first stop is at the colorful street of Stavanger, the upper holmegate. This is one of my favorite streets and in summertime it is usually full of people. You may think that this street has always been like this, colorful and soothing with life but not so. This used to be a white painted slow and quiet street just a few years ago and nothing like a tourist magnet like today. Today it is know as a little oasis in town.

Upon visiting Stavanger, you really should take your time here to visit some of the many small coffee shops. At a cold day enjoy some nice hot chocolate or in nicer weathers go for some wine or beer. But don’t forget to take a selfie and hashtag it with #fargegaten!
